Blog War Day 2 & 3 - Better late than never!

I know I am slow in getting this up...but atleast I have gotten to it eventually right? Still battling the dreadful flu going around trying to get it better so I can go to work tomorrow. Well anyway here are 2 more projects to inspire you...both incorporating the mini mister with the distress ink.
Day 2 - Shimmer Tag

For this tag, I have created a shimmer spray by adding the following to a mini mister filled 3/4 of the way with water
*3 or 4 drops of Spiced Marmalade Ink refill
*Small scoop (half little finger nail size) of sunflower sparkle perfect pearls
Screw lid back on tightly and shake to mix.
I have basically spritzed the tag with this mix and dried with my heat gun. From there I have stamped my image and sentiment using the black soot distress ink and egded the tag with the spiced marmalade ink pad.

Day 3 - Castaway Cosmos Card

Ok now the featured items in this project are the cosmos stamp (from our January release and one of my faves), castaway paper and tea dye distress ink. I have used the distress ink in a couple of different ways for this card. To start with I have attached the castaway paper to whirlpool bazzill and edged the bazzill with tea dye ink using the hydra sponge. The sentiment has then been stamped with the tea dye ink in the normal way. The tag is the fun thing. As promised I have incorporated the mini mister so this time I have just made a mix of water and about 5 drops of tea dye distress ink refill. So to do the tag I have stamped the cosmos image onto a white tag with watermark ink and then heavily spritzed the tag with my ink solution (you want to be very generous so there is almost a puddle across your tag...dry the tag using the heat gun and watch at how the stamped image absorbs the exta colour from the spray. This is a great way to create a subtle image on a distress project...I might just have to try this on a layout. Oh obviously to finish the card I simply edged the tag with the ink and hydra sponge attached the aged copper spiral and mounted on card using magic mount.

I have started playing around with this same mix of ink and water to see how the mix reacts with different things so hopefully come the end of the week I can fill you all in.

Distress ink is definately versatile.
